About Us

 I am Dominique McClain, the owner and operator of Hair Geek & Company Hair Salon. I began my career in the cosmetology industry in 2009, when I was 14 years old. I had the privilege of being the assistant to and mentored by Shawn Moore, the owner of a very prominent salon in Charlotte, NC – Styles by Shawn. I graduated high school in 2012 and enrolled at Paul Mitchell, the School in Charlotte, where I graduated with honors. Shortly thereafter, I passed the state board exam and received my cosmetology license where I returned to Styles by Shawn as a booth renter for the next two years. In 2015, at the age of 21 years old, I ventured out on my own, opening my salon, Hair Geek & Company where we offer a wide variety of products and services to the residents of Charlotte and surrounding areas.
